UNITED EMMANUEL CHURCH

WORSHIP @ UNITED

SUNDAY WORSHIP

We gather for worship each Sunday morning at 10:30am, our services last about an hour.  We sing a variety of hymns and worship songs.  Worship centres around the Word of God  in scripture (the Bible) and includes readings, prayers, times for reflection and a message or sermon.  On the second Sunday we share the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion).  After our time of worship we share refreshments and a time of fellowship.

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Although we do not have a Junior Church meeting separately, people of all ages are welcome to worship.  We have a selection of toys and games for younger children and are happy to provide activities and resources for older children.  If you would like to find out more please contact our Pastoral Assistant.

TUESDAY LUNCHTIME WORSHIP

Each Tuesday we welcome folk to join in worship for a lunchtime service from 12:15 – 12:45pm.  Our congregation on these occasions is made up from members of a number of different local congregations representing different Christian traditions.  We invite different ministers, church leaders, local preachers and others to lead us and share God’s Word.  Our services are normally traditional in style and include hymns, prayers, a Bible reading and a reflection or message.

We share refreshments and a time of fellowship after our worship.

All are welcome.

ECO CHURCH

The care of God’s creation is central to our faith, who we are, and what we do. We aim to “live lightly” in God’s wonderful world using fair-trade and ethical products. We are pleased to have been awarded the Bronze Award by Eco-Church, but aim to do much, much better in the future.  If you care for our planet is something you are concerned about why not come and join us?

ACTIVITIES & COMMUNITY

WEDNESDAY LUNCHES

Every Wednesday 12:00 noon to 1:30pm

We know the energy crisis with the rapidly changing finances we are all facing is hitting many people hard.  We also know there are a lot of people living on their own who rarely get out to meet other people. We realise just how much a hot meal, with good company can make such a difference, the meal includes a two-course meal with tea or coffee.

We want everyone to be able to attend, regardless of their financial circumstances, so we will not be charging for the lunch. However, if your circumstances allow, then a voluntary donation of up to £7.50 per person would be very much appreciated.

To enable us to cater appropriately each week for numbers attending and for any dietary needs, we do require booking in advance, by the week-end before at the latest.

Those wishing to make an online donation towards these lunches

JAM MUSIC SCHOOL

Joe at JAM has been with us for some time, bringing music lessons, guitar lessons, keyboard lessons, vocal lessons and running band sessions for children aged 5 years old, up to 18-year-olds, as well as running adult sessions.
Their focus is on giving your kids the opportunity to produce music they love in a safe environment, surrounded by experienced teachers and building relationships with their peers.
With passionate, fully trained and currently active musicians, their teachers aim to teach musical instruments in a fun and productive way. The church provides a safe, trusting and encouraging space for JAM to get stuck in and help boost the confidence in the community through music. To find out how to book a lesson, discover JAM at www.jammusicschool.co.uk
