RUSTHALL UNITED REFORMED CHURCH

We are right in the heart of the village. We aim to make you feel among friends as soon as you come in the doors. We are ordinary people and our message is very simple: God’s love is for all, and revealed in Christ. Rusthall itself is a very fortunate village and has a unique atmosphere, thanks to the genuine community here, church and non-church goers alike.

If you want to come together with us before God in an atmosphere which is not too formal, we may be the church for you.  A church is made up of people, not bricks and mortar! It is people who count, and we would just welcome you as a unique, valuable and loved individual, if you pay us the complement of dropping by.   Scroll down for more information.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

We meet for worship each week on Sunday morning at 10:00am  Our services last about an hour.  We aim to offer you straightforward, easy to follow services in a relaxed setting. If you are looking for simplicity in not-too-formal surroundings, we may be right for you. We do not run a junior church at the moment but all ages are welcome and we have a range of toys, books and creative resources that we can make available for children and young people if needed.

Our worship includes prayers, Bible readings a reflection or sermon, hymns and worship songs, and a chance for exchange of personal news and requests for prayer.   Following each service there is a time of fellowship together over tea and coffee to which all are invited to stay and join us.

Our Minister normally leads the service on the third Sunday of the month, when we share The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion). Jacqui, our local preacher, normally leads once a month and other services are led by visiting preachers, so there is variety but always sharing God’s love.

SINGING FOR FUN

Tuesday: 2.00pm to 3.00pm  – Last Tuesday of each month except December. Singing for Fun was originally thought up to help anyone with dementia but we quickly realized that it is a great group for anyone. So we are an all-inclusive fun group of all ages! We sing a wide variety of  songs.  Everyone is welcome. The emphasis is on fun. Details from Jan on 01892 529100

PRAYER TIME

This quiet time is held in the church, led by an Elder and is quite informal. We simply sit together and just pray, for the world and ourselves. You can speak, or be silent, as you wish.  Please see the group calendar page for dates for this activity.

COMMUNITY COFFEE

Saturday 10.00am to 11.30 am  – This is held on the last Saturday of every month except December. Come and enjoy tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes with members of the Rusthall Community.. A small raffle is usually held. All are welcome. These gatherings are organised by Lisa Coghlan.
